| Power
cuts, soaring electricity costs and continually
rising living costs can get to one very quickly.
We are quick to blame ESKOM and are unaware of
the depleting resources used to produce this electricity,
and the effect this is have having on our environment.
The cost of running the power stations are also
extremely high and this is the most probable cause
of the recent and the future price hikes. The
answer to this problem is the solar geyser. Geysers
are the leading cause of high electricity bills
in a single household as conventional geysers
work with elements, drawing draw high voltage
when heating and thus increasing the power used.
Using
energy from the sun, the solar geyser is the
most cost effective and best way to save money
and also save our country's depleting natural
resources. It is apparent that the world's focus
is on saving our planet's resources while preventing
global warming from progressing to a dangerously
high level. This concept is called going green
and this is where the solar geyser stands head
and shoulders above all other geyser systems
aimed at saving costs and usage of electricity.
Many people have converted to this style of
energy efficiency and are reaping the benefits
thereof. For those who have not converted to
the solar geyser yet, hot water is fast becoming
a luxury in their households.
A
solar geyser consists of three major parts,
a solar collector, which collects the sun's
rays, a transfer medium, in a direct solar geyser
system this just water and in an Indirect system
it is a mixture of water and glycol, the glycol
is used to prevent the water from freezing in
extreme cold temperatures and the storage container
which like conventional geysers is insulated.
The solar geyser storage container is however
larger and has more insulation than the conventional
geyser. This thus increases the containers heat
retention.
These
storage containers can be mounted either on
the roof of house or in the roof of your house.
It is suggested that the best place is on top
of your roof however one has to make sure that
your roof is sturdy enough to support such a
large container.
